Become an i-CANADA Supporter

Becoming an i-CANADA supporter provides an opportunity for corporations to increase their image and economic access to decision-makers, and for municipal officials to fast-track their communities’ economic, social and environmental growth.

i-CANADA’s advocacy for smart communities goes from grass-roots and practical programs, to the creation of national policy that improves the community “smart ecosystem”. I-CANADA supporters work together for mutual benefit, uniting public and private sector leaders with opinion-leaders in academia and R&D.

Smart Communities are those that use the latest digital technologies to transform and connect all sectors and related smart applications into a consensual vision and strategy for sustainable prosperity and when they do this within a strategic framework they may also be called Intelligent Communities.

i-CANADA Movement Facts

i-CANADA is the only Canadian organization focused solely on the development of Smart Communities.

In the past four years, i-CANADA has recruited a Governors Council headed made up of CEOs of leading companies, Mayors, Premiers, and opinion-makers.

i-CANADA has worked with its members to create ground-breaking tools that all members can use, to accelerate and help focus a community’s drive to use ICT for advancement.

The not-for-profit i-CANADA organization de-risks a community’s initial steps towards becoming “Smart”, by offering unbiased access to best-practice solutions. i-CANADA itself is not a consultancy.

Joining i-CANADA puts you in a club with corporate members who have total revenues exceeding $500-billion, total R&D investment in Canada exceeding $1-billion, and value to Canada from exports exceeding $2-billion. Messages sent across this i-CANADA network reach more than one million Canadian leaders.

Through i-CANADA, supporters get access to international markets and alliances; the coming value of the Smart Community market globally will exceed $1-trillion by 2030.

i-CANADA works in all regions of Canada, through regional chapters.

i-CANADA members come from a variety of technology, solutions, media, and social organizations, from government departments to corporations to researchers.

i-CANADA acts like the Producer of a movie: it helps organize the activity and promotes the project to the audience. I-CANADA’s members can be thought of as Directors and Actors: Companies and civic officers that support Smart Communities are Directors, and the public service officers and citizens are the Actors
